As most of you know, I´m a foodie. Although I´m a bit overweight and try to make a healthy diet, I have a great pleasure eating different dishes. I have a crush on cakes, just what I should avoid to keep my weight as it is.

Improving My Adsense Earnings
Hello everyone.
I´m back from work. In the past couple days, I´ve been doing a nice shift, from 2 to 8 pm. This shift allows me to be back to my blogging nights.
A few weeks ago, I mentioned in a post that I was working to improve my Adsense earnings. For my surprise, my best Adsense earners are my Portuguese blogs. I did some research and found that the Portuguese food niche had many searchers and enough space for more offer.
My strategie to improve my Adsense earnings is to invest my time on blogs, SEO them to have enough organic traffic and hope they generate revenue. This isn´t an easy goal but with some effort and my actual SEO knowledge it´s not impossible to reach. To acheive it, all I need is free time.
Last April, I started a food blog in Portuguese. I post once a week and already have a few good links that point to this blog. The result was positive, I already have PR1 and daily organic traffic from Google searches.
During May, this organic traffic started to click and generated some revenue that ads to my other blog´s earnings. If visitors keep clicking at this rate, next month I´ll reach another payment.
I received a check in May and in June I´ll reach another payment. Not bad at all. This project is demanding but rewarding and I´m happy that I´m able to generate revenue while I´m sleeping :)

Summer Fashion
Summer has arrived to Portugal. Now that I´m working and have to go out more, I need to buy some new summer clothes.
Recently, I lost some weight. After some exercise and healthy meals, I lost around eight kilos without any special diet. I´m not wearing XL t-shirts anymore and now my old summer clothes don´t look well on me. I really need to buy a couple pair of shorts, a few tops to match and one jacket. Once I´m saving money I also need to compare prices and try to make the best deals.

Student Life: Big Decisions To Be Made
My student life is worring me more than ever. I have to make a big decision but I´m not sure what to do.
In my university, 2009 is the last transition year from the old model to what we call "Bolonha". Bolonha was created to uniformize European studies. For example, if you study in Spain, France or other EU country, the course you finish will be recognized in Portugal (or in other countries) as equal, and vice versa.
Bolonha model includes two cycles. The first cycle lasts three years and is equivalent to a degree, the second cycle lasts two years and is equivalent to Masters.
In my area of studies, I can only work in my profession if I have a Masters or finish my course this year. In both cases, I´ll need to do professional work for 18 months in an institution before I can be recognised as a professional.
The big decision is: Should I finish my dissertation project until September and finish the old model or should I quit my project and go into Bolonha process?
I´ve been thinking about the benefits and disadvantages of both options but I haven´t reached any conclusion yet.
If I chose the first option, I´ll need to finish my project fast and invest more 18 months. All this only to have a degree and be able to work in my area of studies. On the other hand, if I chose Bolonha, I need to invest two more years in school, plus 18 months but, if I complete the process, I´ll have a Masters. Hello everyone.
This Sunday was my day off so I had a good rest and went out with my daughter. We went shopping groceries and had a burger out at Mc Donnalds.
I only logged in my English blogs after midnight, so it´s already Monday. It´s amazing how time flies. Today, I´m posting my 28th Music Monday edition!
This week, I picked a Portuguese singer and song. The singer is "Dulce Pontes" and the song is "Canção do Mar" (song of the sea). This singer has a great voice and this song, which isn´t new, was included in one of Richard Gere´s movies.

Blogger Status: Busy Doing Night Shifts
Hello everyone.
I´m dropping by Night Clicks to post a few lines and let you know how I´m doing.
As my post title says, I´m busy with my work. I´ve been doing shifts from 16 pm to midnight. In the morning, I have to make lunch and at 1 pm I drive my daughter to school. At night, when I arrive home from work, I take care of the laundry and other housechores. When I have enough energy left, I turn on my notebook and update some of my blogs. When I´m doing night shifts I go to bed very late and wake up just in time for my mom´s duties.
This weekend, I´ll have Sunday and Monday off. Two days in a row are great for me because some weeks I have my days off in separate. When I only have one day off time flies very quickly and I hardly have enough rest.
Although I´ve been tired, I think I´m doing well in my new job. My school project is late and I just hope I can finish it before September otherwise I´ll be integrated in Bolonha process, which isn´t good for me. This is a subject for a future post. For now, I´m off to bed.

Blogger Stuff: My Lost Car and My New Life
Some weeks ago, I blogged about the fact that I was about to lose my new car (a 2007 Ford in the picture above) because I couldn´t afford to pay it alone anymore. The truth is I didn´t want to keep paying a car that wasn´t only mine. This was one of the consequences of my recent divorce.
Yes, I´m divorcing but I didn´t have enough courage to blog about it before. I mentioned that my life changed, that I was feeling down but didn´t explain much about my current situation. I guess I was ashamed of admiting that a fifteen year´s relation had ended, but not anymore.
I gave up my new car and some other things (luxuries) but I kept my daughter, my mental sanity, recovered my freedom and found a new job, a few very important things for me :)
Now that my life has changed, I lost my previous financial situation, the feeling I was being locked in a prison and recovered my peace of mind. Now, I have the will to start a new path, much healthier and without so many unfair compromises and obligations.
I felt like a housekeeper of someone who didn´t respected me, my life choices, (my blogging endeavors were a problem too), didn´t validated me or appreciated all my efforts. "Someone that can not love" (David Fonseca song, remember this Music Monday?). Someone that became an alcoholic with depression, has low self esteem, overjealous, anxiety prolems and doesn´t know how to save or manage money properly. I think I deserve a better life and as we say in Portugal it´s better to be alone than with a bad company.
Now that I´ve shared my personal life´s changes here in Night Clicks, I feel lighter, lol. I hated omitting what was going on with me. After all, my blogs are about me and my life. Now that I´ve expelled this "dark side of my moon" I can go on blogging about my stuff in a direct manner because that´s me!

Home Security
A few weeks ago, someone broke into my forth floor neighbor´s flat and robed all her gold. My neighbor is an old lady that lives alone since the death of her husband, three years ago. When she noticed that someone had broke into her home, she immediately called the police. It was too late, the burglars ran away without a trace and she didn´t recover her belongings.
I only knew this happening two days later when I meet her in our building´s entrance hall. If she hadn´t told me about what happened I would have never suspect that my building isn´t as safe as I thought. Blogger Status: Only One Day Off This Weekend!
Hello everyone.
Finally, a weekend day off arrived for me and with it some rest. Maybe not so much, it looks I´ll never rest. I have a pile of clothes to iron bigger than myself :)
Tomorow, Sunday, I´m going to put away all my duties and housechores!
I´m going to the beach with my daughter. Summer hasn´t arrived yet but the weather is hot enough to take a swim.
My new job is going well (I think) but along with my other duties it doesn´t leave me much time for my usual blogging chores. My domain blog is almost abandoned since the begining of this month, I haven´t done drops as I used to and my new domain project hasn´t take off.
The only good blogging news come from my Portuguese blogs. I got PR1 in my new food blog but I have been so busy that I only noticed it a couple days ago. My art blog is for sure my best endeavour and it surprises me every day. I get really nice comments, more organic traffic than before and my Adsense earnings reflect what I´ve achieved.
Last week, I won a book about saving in a blog giveaway. Now I´m waiting to get the book by mail. Will I have time to read it? Not sure about it but I´m happy to be the winner.
Yesterday, I wanted to update some of my blogs but I got a bit lost reading Womenselfesteem blog. Dorothy has very good posts that I enjoy reading.
I also spent over an hour "cleaning" my e-mail boxes and reading the updates in a couple fellow´ blogs. When I finished answering a few comments here in Night Clicks, I went straight to bed. Just like tonight. I´m tired and I need to regain strengh.

Farming & Chickens
As some of you know, my dream is to live in a country home not only because I´m a nature lover but also to have my own small farm. I´d like to plant my own vegetables, herbs and maintain a small garden. Besides this I´d like to have a few pets and raise chickens.
As a city girl, my goals may sound weird but I´m working hard to put my plans in practice because this is what I really want to do in a near future.

Hello everyone.
Today it´s my day off but I have so many things to do that I won´t rest much.
My mother finally decided to move in with us and now I need to change my home office into a room for her. She has been sick and, at her age, living alone isn´t easy. I decided to take care of her and manage all her things.
From now on, I will have to travel to my hometown once in a couple months to check how things are going. With a day job and my studies, it won´t be easy to manage so much stuff but I have no other option because I´m an only child and I don´t want to put my mother in a third age rest house.
I also need to do something about my blogs because I no longer have time for all of them. Any suggestions?

I´ve been doing afternoon schedules (4.00 pm - 00.00) and when I arrive home I have all the housework to do. This is one of the reasons I haven´t updated some of my blogs. I´ll tell you the others in a future post.

Here in Portugal we celebrated Mother´s Day last week (check out my previous posts) but I´ve read that in some parts of the world this special day is celebrated this week.

Adsense Payment
Hello everyone.
Many things happened in the past two days, some good and others bad. My life could be a book or a novel :) I´ll tell you some of the good stuff and leave the "not so good" for future posts.
This week, I received another Adsense check in my mail box. This payment was of a higher amount than the previous, received in January. I just wish the dollar would be in a better shape because after conversion I got less than one hundred Euros.
Adsense payments are always welcome because I don´t need to work very hard for them. I just need to maintain my art blog updated and that´s quite all. My blog ranks very well in Google search engine and it get most of it´s traffic for free.
Currently, my art blog acheived 500 daily visitors from Google searches, which I think it´s very good for a Portuguese blog. Some of this visitors click in ads and I just need to wait two or three months to reach another payment. If I had a few blogs like this one I could consider myself very lucky but maintaining blogs isn´t a piece of cake. Blogs need constant attention, research, subjects to post and a good dose of motivation. This blog is my older one, it has one and a half years of existence so there´s a lot of work invested there.
I´ll keep you updated about my Adsense progresses.

Natural Acne Treatment
When I was a teenager I had severe acne problems. As I advanced in age, specially after the birth of my daughter, the acne is getting better but hasn´t disappeared.
My skin is oily type and when it isn´t properly cleaned it gets inflamed and pimples start growing, mostly in the T- zone.
Even after trying different Acne Treatment products the problem remains. I think that in my case the acne is also related to the type of food I eat. To get better, I have to avoid oily and fast food, eat plenty vegetables and drink water.

Hi everyone.
Last weekend, my daughter was sick and had a fever. Fortunately, I had three days off and I could take good care of her. During three days, I gave her some antipyretic. Thanks God, the fever went away and now she´s much better. You know kids, they seem to have good fever resistance.
She had a cold and now I think she passed it to me. Yesterday, I woke up with a sore throat and a headache too. I went to work feeling dizzy. I can´t afford to miss my job because I just started working last month. Today I took a few pills, specially for the awful headache that doesn´t go away. If I´m like her, in a couple days I will get better but today I don´t have much energy.
This week, I´m doing afternoon and night shifts but tomorow I have to work in the morning. It´s already late and I´m off to bed.

Last year, my course was very stressful. I had many paperworks to do alone for different subjects. In one of this subjects I had to do a group paperwork.
Me and my collegues decided to do a paperwork about breading and relaxation techniques. While researching for this paperwork, one of my collegues introduced me to "Oliver Shanti" music. I thank her for that!
Later that year, my collegue lent me two CDs which I enjoy very much, Tai Chi I and II.
For this week´s edition of Music Monday, I´m featuring Oliver Shanti & Friends and the music "Sacral Nirvana + Wheat Circles". There are other musics that I enjoy, such as "Water - Four Circles of Life" or "Amitabha".

Another Working Week Ahead
Hi everyone.
I´ve been a couple days away from Night Clicks and my other blogs to enjoy Mother´s day, clean my flat and have some rest. Now, I´m back for another working week ahead.
I just arrived home from work. Today, it was another tiring day. In my actual job we have different sections and the most tiring are the "disinfection" and the material collecting or distribution. Today, it was my turn to be alone in the desinfection department. It´s not the first time I do this task alone but not all days are equal. Some days we have more work than others, it all depends on the operations done, and today we had loads and loads of material.
During the morning, all team had an "educational" session to learn the correct proceadures to work in that section. It was very useful to me because I had a few questions about some procedures.
We also received an evaluation sheet that describes what is expected from us. This evaluation is for those who belong to our section but the chief nurse said that she wasn´t sure if this evaluation will be performed in workers doing contracts, like me. I think it will.
Well, I´m off to pick my daughter from school, shop a few groceries and decide what´s for dinner :)

Hello folks. Hope you´re all having a good weekend.
I´m having mini vacations from work. Three days off in a row feel like vacations to me so I´m doing one of my night owl blogging sessions :)
Today (Friday), after lunch, I received a phone call that caught me by surprise. It was my mother saying that she was arriving. I only expected her tomorow but she decided to come earlier and give me a hand with my daughter.
My daughter started having fever Wednesday night. Thursday, she went to school because she was feeling better but around 5.00 pm her teacher called me and asked to pick her because she wasn´t Ok. She has fever, a sore throat and her nose is blocked. Poor little thing...
I have to work next Sunday so I called my mother and asked her to visit us. This way I can go to work and my mother will look after my daughter. It´s a relief to know she will be at home with my mom. I hope she gets better really soon.

Mother´s Day
Next Sunday we will celebrate Mother´s Day.
Tomorrow, Saturday, my mother is coming to visit us. She lives in my hometown, 300 Km away from where I am. Next Sunday, I will have the chance to reunite three generations of women in my family, my mother, me and my daughter.
I haven´t bought any special gift for my mother yet. For me, what really counts is that we will be together. I will cook a special dinner for us and spend some quality time with my family.
Every year, my daughter offers me a handmade Mother´s Day present that she does in school and this year is no exception. Besides love, these are the best presents any mother can have.
My daughter already has her present but now she´s waiting for Sunday to give it to me. I wonder what she did this time. Next week I´ll take a picture of her present to post here.

Happy Labor´s Day
Hi everyone.
In Portugal, today is Labor´s day which is one of our national holidays.
Since 25th April revolution, Portuguese workers conquered many rights they didn´t have before and May 1st is here to remember us of that.
Although Portuguese workers live better now, in the past years many factories closed and the "job for life" concept changed to uncertainty.
Nowadays, it´s very difficult to have a long term guaranted job and with the current crisis things just got worse.
The labor´s day should remind us that there´s still a long way to go in worker´s rights. A job for everyone is our current biggest goal but will we be able to acheive it? It´s my utopic wish.
Putting dreams apart, I´d like to wish all Night Clicks readers and visitors: Happy Labor´s day!
