Hi everyone. After the well deserved two days off in a row, this week´s night shifts will be in Wednesday and Thursday.
In those two days, I had plenty rest, did my housechores, went groceries shopping, went to the countryside and even bought a new fan. My previous fan was so old that I had to throw it away. It´s been so hot here (over 30ºC) that a new fan is very welcome and, once I found a good bargain, I didn´t resit and bought it. I see it as an investment for the summers to come.
Today, after my morning shift, I went to the swimming pool with my daughter. We had fun. Well, we always do but at dinner time we were both so tired that my daughter went straight to bed. Instead of doing the same, I had to satisfy my blogging addition and here I am, updating my blogs. Tonight, I won´t make my usual EC round because I´m to tired for it. After writting a quick post for my other blog, I´ll catch some sleep too.
Tomorow, after midnight, If I don´t arrive home too tired I´ll be online working in my new dot com blog. If you don´t see me around it´s because I went to bed earlier than usual. If I turn my notebook on, it will be difficult to unplug and when I notice it´s already morning. Can´t do this tomorow otherwise I´ll be too tired for work. Well, that´s all for now. Cell Phone Batteries
My Samsung cell phone is acting strange again. Today, I arrived a few minutes late at work because the clock isn´t working well. I use my cell phone as an alarm clock because it has a nicer sound than most normal clocks.
Usually, I have the clock set with a few minutes advanced. This way I always wake up before time and I don´t have to rush in the morning, one of the things I dislike more when I´m working in morning shifts.
In the past months, the cool Samsung I bought back in 2005 gave me some batteries problems. Now, I think the problem is the same and I can´t rely on it as an alarm clock anymore.
I already looked online to check Cell Phone Batteries prices and I realized I really need to buy a new one. If I buy new batteries maybe my cell phone will last a few more years. Although it´s a bigger phone device than modern ones, it has everything I need in it. It has Internet, calculator, camera and video too. Plus, all my contacts are in there, it would be a headache to lose this phone numbers. Right now, I don´t want to spend my hard earned cash in a new phone so I think cell phone batteries will do just fine and will solve my current problem.

Blogger Status: Two Days Off
Hello everyone.
Weekend´s here, and after a few weeks, I finally have two days off in a row. I sure deserve them because this week I worked five days non stop in busy shifts. Friday and Saturday was my turn to do night shifts so tonight I´m more tired than usual. During July, I´m not sure if I will have free Sundays so I´d better enjoy this one.
Now that summer is officially here (started 22 June) we want to go to the beach.
The picture above was taken last year in one of the islands located in Olhão. It´s an awsome beach with warm sea water but we can only get there by boat. Tonight, while looking in my picture´s folder I found the one above and wished I was there.
Today, Sunday, I´ll rest, do the housecores and shop groceries but tomorow off we go. Right now, I´m off to bed. Bed sweet bed :)
It´s already 6.00 am and I can barely open my eyes :)

I answered: Got no idea.
She replied: It was Michael Jackson, I turned the TV on and they were saying the same in all chanels.
I was caught by surprise.
In my teens, I remember being very happy to receive "Thriller" Maxi single as a birthday present. I played the record over and over in a portable LP player I had until I knew the lyrics. His music was so different from what we were used to.. the best was the video. At that time, I was fascinated with terror movies too.
Well, I guess his unexpected death caught us all by surprise, specially because his life was sort of a mistery. He was only 51.

Confirmed PR Updates
Yeap, it´s confirmed. Yesterday, there were PR updates. After making my EC round I noticed changes in some blogs.
I´m glad Night Clicks managed to keep it´s PR. Some of my other blogs kept their PRs as well but my recent ones gained PR. This updates brought some good news for me. My recent dot com blog already has PR1 and my Portuguese food blog has now PR2.
Once I had nothing to lose, I made a few experiences with my recent food blog. I like to make SEO experiences so I can learn from them. I know that PR is much more about links than in page optimization factors. With a few links of related blogs pointed to my blog and in page optimization techniques, I gained PR2. Not bad for a blog with only three months of existence.
So, if you want to get good ranks in your blog get as many related links as possible. I would like to find how many links I need to gain more PR in Night Clicks, I wouldn´t mind having PR4 like I once did, but no math can tell me that. It all depends on the websites where the links come from.
There´s one thing I can do: I can use my own blogs to provide links to my other websites. I just have to it in a smart way and with the right anchor text. With the amount of blogs I have, it´s easy to get as many links as I wish to my other sites.

Now that summer arrived, we all want to look good in our swimwears.
Summer diets are being advertised all over but I don´t belive much in them. I think we must be careful when dieting. Dieting should be done all year round and not only in summer or a couple months before the season arrives.
For me, healthy balanced meals and exercise are the best way of losing weight. I don´t belive much in diet pills or chemicals. If you don´t burn the calories you eat you´ll sure get fat.
Although I prefer "natural" exercise, I think some machines can help. If you need to find more information about them, you can check online guides that offer elliptical machine reviews.

Now, more updates puzzles me, three times in such a short period of time is something I wasn´t expecting.
Will Night Clicks keep it´s current PR?
I don´t know but I hope so. I haven´t focused much in getting links. This simple blog is what I call my central office and the one from which I earn the most in reviews. This isn´t a secret, I´ve mentioned this several times before. I do blog only for fun in other blogs, not here.

Ramblings About My New Life
Me and S. are trying to reach an agreement to share the stuff we bought while married. I already lost our car and the plot but the best part is I don´t have any debt hanging above my head like a dark cloud.
All I ever wanted was to be understood, hugged and respected but I didn´t have the luck to find in S. the person who would appreciate me as I am, for what I am, without criticism or trying to change me.
My online world was a total absurd to him, I had to do all the housecores, groceries shopping & cooking and that says a lot about the pressure and stress I went trough. Not to mention his jealousy, self centered attitude, enlarged materialistic interests and drinking habits.
In the past years, I´ve became someone different because of all the frustrations in my married life. I had less joy, was often angry and depressed. For a while, I thought it was all my fault and even considered having therapy.
Now that my nightmare relation ended, I conquered my piece of mind and freedoom back. No money can buy them so I´m ready to lose other material stuff. He wants the LCD of our living room, the notebook I´m using, some CDs and other stuff.
In the past years, I´ve became less and less attached to material stuff. I learned frugality and how to save money.
My current job is going OK and I´m starting my life all over again. I´m ready to let go of the past and I will try to find my new path, my way, like in Sinatra´s song:

Updates About Blog Advertising
Tonight, I found that I´ve reached another Adsense payment, cool news for my MMO activities :)
Last month, my earnings improved thanks to my new Portuguese blog. After all, starting another blog in the food niche was a good bet.
ProjectWonderful has been a slow earner for me and, in comparison, Adgitize has worked much better, although I only reached payout once. I haven´t tried CMF ads yet, and I´m still waiting for an EC payment. For me, Adsense really beats them all.
Yesterday, I decided to check ppp TOS and noticed some requirements weren´t listed there anymore. Currently, their TOS doesn´t say anything about interims and a minimum number of weekly posts. I don´t know when this new changes took place but I was so surprised that I decided to double check it, found nothing. This website is my best earner ever. Well, that´s all for now. See you in a bit.

ProjectWonderful has been a slow earner for me and, in comparison, Adgitize has worked much better, although I only reached payout once. I haven´t tried CMF ads yet, and I´m still waiting for an EC payment. For me, Adsense really beats them all.
Yesterday, I decided to check ppp TOS and noticed some requirements weren´t listed there anymore. Currently, their TOS doesn´t say anything about interims and a minimum number of weekly posts. I don´t know when this new changes took place but I was so surprised that I decided to double check it, found nothing. This website is my best earner ever. Well, that´s all for now. See you in a bit.
Day Off at the Beach
Now that school´s summer vacations are arriving, I promissed my daughter we would start going to the beach more often.
Today I had a day off and decided to keep my promisse, otherwise I would have to put up with her complains all day.
We did a nice program toguether. We woke up late, had breakfast, bought some groceries and came back home for lunch. After lunch, we went to Faro´s island beach. At sunset, we drove back to Faro and had a nice dinner in our favorite Chinese restaurant.
We love doing things toguether and after all the weird schedules and night shifts I´ve been doing in the past months we deserve leisure time.
This summer I won´t have any vacations so I have to make the most out of my days off.
My daughter´s dream vacation is going to Disney World or Isla Mágica. I would be happy if I could spend a week at Palma de Maiorca but staying at Windsor Hills would be so cool.
Maybe next year we will be able to go somewhere outside Algarve. We already started saving money for next year´s summer vacations.

I Need More Tax Information

Last Week of School
Hi fellows.
Today, I worked in the morning shift and had all afternoon free.
Although the temperatures are very high here, it rained all morning, which is quite unusual in June. With so much hot, I couldn´t imagine it was going to rain today so I didn´t take an umbrella with me. When I got home I was all wet and had to change clothes. I hope I don´t get one of those awful summer´ sore throat.
As my post tittle says, next Friday my daughter´s school will close for summer vacations. She will have until mid September to enjoy vacations and have fun.
Her class has been preparing a theatre mini-play for the party they are organizing. This party will take place in the last day of school and she´s very excited about it. I won´t be able to attend the party because I´ll be working, it´s a shame but what can I do?

Bugs in my flat
For the second year in a row, when summer arrives, some ants appear in my living room and the worst is I don´t know where they´re coming from.
You know me, I hate bugs. Last year I thought the ants appeared because my daughter left fruit peels and bits of cookies in the living room but this year they´re back.
Last winter, I also had a bad experience with cockroaches in my other flat. There were so many cockroaches in the building that even after buying pesticides they wouldn't go away. I spent money in pesticides for nothing. Then, I found the problem wasn´t only in my flat but in the whole building. We had to contract a pest control company and only after they came in my flat the problem was solved. They used a jelly type of pesticide that completely eliminated the bugs in a few days time.
Maybe there´s an ant nest in my living room already, I see them come and go from a little hole in the floor. My gosh, I just hope I don´t need to contract pest control services again. It wasn´t cheap.

IZEA, the mother company of Pay Per Post and Social Spark, recently launched another website called V4 Payperpost.
This new website connects bloggers and advertisers but it´s a bit different from the other two IZEA websites. V4 doesn´t have a marketplace like PPP and SS. Bloggers subscribe to V4, define their price and then wait for interested advertisers.
Personally, I like the marketplace concept because it allows me to select the tasks I want to do. I signed up V4 right after it was launched but, until today, I didn´t receive any offer. I think this new concept will benefit only some bloggers, such as US residents and blogs with many daily visitors, like what happens in SS.

Costumes & Popular Saints
June is the month of Portuguese "Popular Saints". This is an old tradition, we celebrate S. Pedro, S. António and S. João. We celebrate this popular saints with a type of street parades we call "Marchas".
In each city that celebrates the Saints, there´s an organized parade. People get dressed in special Costumes made only for this occasion and streets are decorated with paper crafts. In some cities there´s a competition among different neighborhoods. For this contests, each neighborhood creates a special song and costume.
In my country, popular Saints is a very special occasion, the major cities' contests are broadcast live on TV. When I was younger I used to participate in this festivals doing paper flowers to decorate the streets. It was so much fun.

This week, Saturday is my day off and it finally arrived. I say finally because I do get tired doing a few night shifts in a row.
Right now, I´m multitasking. I´m doing drops and writing posts. When I got home tonight, I was really tired but when I turn my notebook on and drink a couple coffe mugs, I gain energy to do another blogging night.
Yesterday, once again, I went to bed very late. After 3.00 am I spent a few hours reading posts in Mathias Chronicles blog about hell and heaven and got distracted. When I noticed, it was already morning. I went to bed but only slept a few hours and here I am again. After working till 20.00 pm, I´m ready for another blogging night :)

Painting Services
Now that the good weather arrived, I´ve been thinking about finally painting a part of my flat. I say finally because I´ve been living in this flat for nine years now and I only painted the kitchen and one bedroom once.
All my flat´s walls are white, which is not the best color choice when we have kids at home. My big bathroom, kitchen and balcony really need a new painting but the hall could use a fresh look too. This week, we had two holidays in a row, 10th and 11th. Wednesday was "Day of Portugal, Camões and Portuguese Communities" and Thursday was Corpus Christi, a known Christian holiday which is celebrated after Easter.
This year, this two hollidays happened to be in the same week. As far as I can remember this is something very unusual but it happened this year.
I had a day off in the 10th but I worked a night shift in 11th. Wednesday, I spent a good part of the night making EC drops and catching up with one of my favorite personal finance website, called "Get Rich Slow".
I found this website trough Technorati when I first started My Countryhome blog and I´ve been reading it ever since. Although US reality is very different from mine, it´s curious to find that I´m putting in practice many of this website´s useful tips.
Tonight, after arriving home from my night shift, I spent most of my time doing housechores and only now, after 3 am, I turned my notebook on. Needless to say that I have to catch some sleep.

EC Cashout - Application Approved
Hello everyone. Today it´s my day off and I spent a good part of the night making EC drops and writing posts for my blogs.
My EC cashout application was approved.
It took them a few weeks to decide but last night I noticed that Night Clicks´ application was finally approved.
I had over 33K credits in my EC account from all my blogs in the system. I decided to save a couple K credits to advertise in other blogs and requested my first cashout with the remaining.
Now I have to wait. I don´t know how long it will take to receive my cashout but I read in Atniz blog´s comments that other EC users already received theirs.
Well, it´s only bucks for so many credits that took me so long to earn but it was a decision I had to make: To cashout or not to cashout :)

Well, I didn´t know that an ethical hacker is an IT security professional.
After researching online about this topic I found that an ethical hacker really exists as a profession in the real life. This professionals are computer and network experts. They test a security system to find vulnerabilities that a true hacker could take advantage of.

Music Monday XXX
Ups, I almost forgot this week´s MM, so I´m doing it today.
The group I picked for this week´s MM edition isn´t new. I enjoy their musics since I was so young. I can´t remember exactly how old I was when I first heard them on the radio, maybe 5 or 6 years old.
I grew up without having the chance to buy any of their albums, and later CDs. There was always a cooler/newer group in my music´s shopping list.
Nowadays, I don´t listen to their songs often, only a few times a year. I can´t explain why but sometimes I feel like listening to their old songs so, a few years ago, I bought one of their special editions of 3 CDs in a box.
I think there´s a bit of gipsy in me... and no, it´s not a Fleetwood Mac song, although I also enjoy them. This week, I´m featuring a true gipsy group. I picked Gipsy Kings and their instrumental composition "Passion", one of my favorite tunes from them:

Car A/C
One thing I miss is my previous car. The second hand car I recently bought is ten years old and doesn´t have some of the luxuries my previous Ford had, such ad CD player and air conditioning. Now that summer arrived, driving without A/C in my black car is like making sauna.

Blogger Status: Weekend Ended
That´s right. My weekend just ended because this Sunday I´m doing a morning shift. As usual, my two days off ended and I didn´t do everything I wanted.
In Friday I had enough rest, did housechores, bought some groceries went to the post office, cooked dinner and had a school collegue over. When I noticed, it was already Saturday. My collegue went home around 2 am. When she left, I wrote a few posts and went to bed very late.
As I usually say, my blogging nights should have 48 hours or more :)
Tonight, time passed so quick... I made some drops, wrote a couple posts and then I got a bit lost reading financial information online. I wanted to check some topics about investment and IRS and when I noticed it was already 3.30 am.
Now, I´m off to bed because I have to wake up around 7 am. Once again, I´m not going to sleep enough and tomorow I won´t have much energy left. Well, tired but happy :)
Next week, we will have two national holidays in a row (10 and 11). I´ll be home in 10th but I´ll work in 11th.
Today, my shift ends at 16.00 pm, when I return home the first thing I´ll do is turn my notebook on :)

Fixing My Notebook Saga
Hello folks.
I´ve been trying to fix my notebook for ages. I´m not an expert (don´t laugh) but this process has turned into a real saga.
I caught a virus while making drops and, since then, my notebook started to act very strange. I could not even open Internet pages anymore.
I had a paid anti-virus installed but it wasn´t enough to catch this little nasty bug. I feel like saying "Bloody Bug" :)
It took me long hours to save all the documents and image files in CDs (6 CDs in total) and this is only my fault because I kept loads of stuff on it.
After saving all the files, I tried to reboot the system but couldn´t do it because I didn´t have the original CD. After searching the whole house, and almoast having a rage attack, I finally found the CD in the box where the notebook came when I bought it. I kept the box well hiden in one of my clothes closets but totally forgot about it. Now I know why I kept it, lol, it had the system copies and user´s manuals inside.
Finally, after a long night, I managed to reboot the system but I lost many of the programs I had. Now, I need to rest and maybe tomorow I´ll start looking for CDs to install the other programs. Another chapter of this saga :)

In my recent job at the hospital, I have developed a good work relation with some nurses and not only in my section. I admire them because they have such a noble but demanding profession.
Many of the nurses I meet have to work night shifts, sometimes three or more in a row. In this demanding profession they have to be passionate about what they do. I think many of this professionals are under a great amount of stress. I can imagine the difficulties they have in keeping a balance between work, rest, family, social duties and entertainment.
While browsing the Internet to find good health related articles, I came across a cool website totally dedicated to nurses. This website is an upcoming print magazine developed to cover all nurse´s topics, both personal and professional. This digital magazine offers career advice such as interview tips for nurses, job market and information about the best places to be a nurse. Back From Night Shifts
Hello folks.
It´s good to be back home from my job´s night shifts. This week was really exhausting. We had loads of work and some collegues are in vacations, leaving us with less people to work in my section.
I´m tired but I didn´t go to bed, no way José:) When I arrived home I started cooking some pasta for tomorow´s lunch and made a load of clothes in my washing machine. Afterwards, I made a good cup of coffe and turned my notebook on to check my blogs.
I can´t help it, it´s more than an addiction. My blogging night sessions are my way to relax after a demanding shift. No one can take them away from me, only an Internet failure, lol.
You see, I have this great office chair in my kitchen (which became my home office) that helps me rest my back and legs. No matter what time it is, this is my daily routine before going to bed.
This week, I´ll have Friday and Saturday off. Two days in a row, iupi!
I have to make the most out of this downtime because I won´t have two days in a row so soon. Next Sunday, I´ll work in the early morning shift. Next week, we´ll have two national holidays but I will only rest one.

Friday and Saturday are this week´s days off and then I´ll have more time for my blogs. I´ll do, at least, one of my blogging nights :)
Right now, between my job, housechores and momy duties, I almost don´t have time to scratch myself.
Yesterday and the day before, when I returned from work, I started fixing my notebook. I´m doing a total reboot to the system and hopefully I´ll be able to fix it. I also need some time to save everything I had in my disk in CDs before I recover the system. I had loads of pictures and other documents I don´t want to lose. This is a hard task but I need to get it done. I´m still using S. notebook and I have to guive it back to him. Each time we meet he keeps asking the notebook back.

International Children´s Day
Today, we celebrate the International Children´s Day.
Me and my daughter started celebrating yesterday :)
It was my day off so we went out for dinner and did some clothes shopping she was needing. I wanted to buy something chosen by her and within my budget. She picked an Hannah Montana T-shirt, lol. Although her show only passes in Disney Channel, she´s very famous among Portuguese girls.
The International Children´s day was celebrated in all town´s schools. Kids didn´t have classes, instead they did fun activities. My daughter did face painting, she arrived home as a tiger.
I´m glad she had fun. I just wish kids worldwide could be this happy. I can´t understand why some adults don´t treat kids well. Weren´t they kids too?

Amália already passed away, she was our great "Fado" Diva and her repertoire is a true Portuguese patrimony.

In the last days of May, there were PR updates. I didn´t notice anything before because all my blog´s PR remain the same.
Tonight, after my EC round, I noticed changes in some fellow´s blogs. That´s how I know there were updates done. I have Google PR toolbar installed in my notebook and each time I visit a website I know it´s PR right away.
If you care about this topic, the toolbar is a very useful tool. If you don´t want to install the toolbar, you can add a PR checker like I have in the bottom of Night Clicks´ page. Just scrool down, visit the website and get the html code to add on your website.
I didn´t expect to improve my blog´s PR because I haven´t worked much for that goal. In fact, here in Night Clicks I´ve been posting more links out than working to get backlinks.
According to my stats, the next updates will be in the last days of August. If your goal is having PR, you have three months to work on it.
