Music

Hello guys,
Night Clicks has been pretty quiet these days... It´s been a while since my last music video so today I´m putting some sound on :)
And...still in the spirit of my previous music posts...I picked one of Peter Murphy latest songs, called "Never Fall Out", included in his "Ninth" album. This album was released early this Summer (2011).
Sure Mr Murphy! I´ll never fall out and I am still under "your spell"... lol.
I´ve been listening to the album and I must take my hat off for you Mr Murphy. Lyrics and songs like this one, "I Spit Roses" and "Memory Go" pleased me right away...got into my ear the first time I heard them....great lyrics, profound voice, quality sound, as usual ;)
Can´t wait for the concert :)
See ya xx

Webhosting Info

If you´re new to blogging and you would like to have your blog installed in your own domain, first I recommend you learn more about domain names . You can check my archives for older posts about this topic or do your own research.
You can find a small logo of my favorite registar (affiliate link) in Night Clicks right side bar under "Web services I use" label.
After selecting and registrating your domain name you will have to think about website hosting. If you live in my country, you will need a credit card for this process. There are many companies offering hosting services so it won´t be that easy to pick just one as the best. I suggest you compare prices and the features offered in each plan carefully. If you´re just starting out, a simple plan will suit your needs and some plans come with a free domain name included. I get this sort of information on a few different webhosting directories. Webhosting Directories provide information, ratings, reviews and articles about this topics. If you click in any of the links in this post, you will be directed to one such directory. You can also check my archives for more directories options as I´ve written about this topic on several occasions.

Peter Murphy: 2 Concerts in Portugal

In October 2011, Peter Murphy will be back in Portugal for two concerts: One in Porto and another in Lisbon. In October 1st he will play in Porto´s "Hard Club" and in the next day he will be singing for Lisbon´s fans in Culiseu. Tickets cost 27.00 Euros each.
Murphy is one of my all time favorite singers, first in Bauhaus and after with his solo career. I also enjoyed a few of Daniel Ash´s and Love & Rockets songs.
I already got my ticket for this concert. I´ll be breaking the 20 + years spell, lol, wishing to see him perform in a live concert. Will take my camera for sure :)
N. I will be thinking of you sis.
See you xx

Cutting Costs

As I mentioned in previous posts, I´ve been home without working outside since December 2010.
I took this decision because in my last job I was not given much choice. My daughter´s school and my shifts schedules were incompatible so I chose to leave the job. I did my math and found that if I could reduce some expenses it was possible to keep this unemployment situation until I sell my flat and move to the smaller one. Things went smoothly until May.
First, my car broke down and the repair bill depleted most of my savings. I had to chose between fixing the car or parking it until I could pay the bill, I picked the first option. Then, it was time for a tax surprise related to my father´s inheritance and a few other unexpected expenses. Recently, another tax surprise arrived in my mail box and a buyer for this flat is not showing on the horizon.
With these events, I came up with a priorities list and readjusted my finances according to it. I was able to reduce costs in some "less necessary" things such as cell phone, car insurance, clothes and cigarettes.
Online, I dropped some blogs and found a cheaper webhosting plan. I started blogging with blogger platform and got so used to it that I have never considered changing to Wordpress because I had to learn all about it from scratch, including Wordpress webhosting, and that would take a lot of time and effort.
I´m now reaching a red line in my finances and, although I´m still able to buy some extras, I´ve been crossing my fingers for a change to come along fast so I don´t get in much debt.

Too Many Books

As I mentioned before, I enjoy reading books very much.
I think this like started back in first infancy when I had the habit to read as many Disney comic books I could. There was a small bookstore near my home in which I could buy second hand Disney comics or an exchange deal with a small tax. This was a cool way to read more books for less money...and here´s a neat business idea :)
Over the years, I bought books on so many different topics... and kept all of them. Many of the books I have are on school related topics but I have a few science, history, romance, poems and fiction books as well. I also have a small collection of recipies, cooking related and music books.
As I mentioned in a previous post, I´m trying to sell my flat and am packing in case I need to move soon. I already packed my music, except my mini sound system which is still here in my kitchen.
In the past weeks, I´ve been sorting out my books to pack those I really want to keep and the ones I could try selling in the used bookstore. I really need to do this because...well..because I have to many books! I wouldn´t mind recovering some of the money I spent on books throughout the years but that won´t be so easy to do, as our second hand book market is rather small.
Well, I guess I have to try.

Affiliate Network - Finances

It´s been a while since my last "mmo" post. Lately, I have not been as much active as I used to be and for that reason I have not researched new opportunities for quite some time.
I´m still using the same advertising companies I was using six months ago, so nothing much changed in this front. In fact, I have improved some blog advertising earnings but nothing much expressive which justified a whole new post.
Today´s post is about a company I recently came across in one of my Personal Finances readings called Blue Global Media. Blue Global Media is an affiliate network focused in financial products such as loans and credit reports.
In the past, I have written several posts about Affiliate Marketing and how it works. You can check my older posts in the archives section. So, I think I can skip long, general explanations and go straight to the point. Today´s post is more about an affiliate opportunity which I would not mind trying it out myself, kind of a lead for those who already know how these schemes work. Some people make good money trough Affiliate Marketing but it does not work the same for all.
Once Global Media is focused on financial products, they provide Payday affiliate programs and are interested in other financial leads. If you have a website about financial topics, expertise in this area or would like to try out this opportunity just click in any of the links in this post and you will be directed to this company´s website.

Come Back Summer, Will Ya?

Bob Dylan says in one of his songs..."Times are changing"...
We should all realize that our "Mother Earth" is changing and so is the weather..and this last one at a "worrying" speed.
The weather became more unstable as we all have had the chance to verify with our own eyes in the last decade´s events. What happened in Japan and is happening right now in Africa says it all.
Well, the recent riots here in Europe are worrying too, they had immediate impact on European finances but that´s a topic for a whole new post.
So... I was all excited that I was going to have another wonderful weekend at the beach..such as the beach in the above picture, located in Montegordo - Algarve, and now the weather started acting out on us. In our corner of the globe it is raining pots in plain Summer´s peak, August. It´s almost 30ºC, seems more like a tropical weather now than a Mediterranean one.
So..no sun, no tan, no beach. We will spend the weekend at home enjoying some good quality family time, in our case, cooking too :)
Hope you have a great one!

Bon Jovi, 2011 Open Air Concert in Lisbon

Hello guys,
I just finished uploading my recent pictures to this pc and thought about sharing some of the pics I took in Bon Jovi´s open air concert last July 31, in Parque da Belavista, Lisbon.
I went to this concert thanks to my good friend B. which offered me the ticket and a room at her place to sleep.
The concert was awesome! I sang and danced all the songs. Some of their songs take me back to my teenage years and in some parts of the concert I felt like I was travelling back in time.
I can say it was one of the best concerts I went in the past years. Both audience and band gave a huge show. Portuguese audience is so cool, we´re so noisy and sing loud :) Just check the videos people already uploaded in Youtube.
It was nearly 60 thousand of us there, surely the biggest concert I went to in the past years. Roger Waters had 45.000, Linking Park much less, etc.
To warm up, the first part of the concert began at 18.00 pm. Two Portuguese bands played, one of them was Klepth which I enjoy very much. Bon Jovi Concert started around 8.00 pm and finished way pass midnight. It was a 3 hours concert, great from begining to end.
I returned home Monday night, a bit tired from the whole weekend trip but very happy because I finally had the chance to see one of my favorite teenage bands with my best friend B.

Memorable.

Topics on my Blogging

The time to renew two of my domain names has arrived. Once again, I have to think about my blogging and what I want to do in the months ahead.
In the past moths, and due to the changes in my personal life, I´ve been spending less time online and my blogging is not as consistent as it once was. I´ve been spending more time in social networks and my blogging has become more focused on my personal blogs.
So, I guess it´s not worth renewing these two domains and, while I´m in the process of selling and moving from my apartment, it´s not the best time to take in any new online project. I´m having difficulties keeping things as they are right now. I realized that if I want to keep blogging I should focus my attention on my “bigger” blogs instead.
And when I say bigger, I mean the older ones I´ve been keeping which have more traffic and readers. All of my blogs are “small” blogs, I still have a simple webhosting scheme and I´m happy as it is.
It´s decided, at this time of my online journey, I need to drop something to be more productive and balanced. I´ll have less expenses and a bit less "worries" too.
