As I mentioned in a recent post, I rebooted my Toshiba notebook and had to reinstall Windows XP and other software.
I installed IE 8 but I kept having problems when I wanted to visit some friend´s blogs. I frequently got this message: "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage".
This was so annoying!
This error message kept showing when I wanted to visit some of my favorite fellow bloggers such as Mariuca and Empty Streets. Plus, it also happened with other websites when I was doing EC drops.
Before my notebook crashed, I used to have both IE7 and Firefox but having two browsers working at the same time seemed to cause some sort of conflict. When I used both, my notebook accelerated and got too hot.
So, I´m done with IE. Today I uninstalled IE and from now on I´ll only be using Firefox. With Firefox, I browse more quickly and, untill now, I didn´t have any problems. I´m glad they invented this awsome browser :)

Internet Explorer: Security Fail and IE 8 Beta
A Portuguese newspaper online, called Público, published in the "last minute news" (16.12.2008 - 14h51) that Internet Explorer has a serious security fail.
According to BBC Online, cit. by Público, this security fail enables hackers to access private information stored in our PCs, such as passwords, account numbers and other data.
Specialists advised to change browser until this problem is solved.
Today, after searching info about the mentioned problem, I found that a new version of IE was released, IE 8 Beta. I´m not sure if this problem occurs in this new version too.
Anyway, Internet Explorer 8 Beta is now available to most countries. You can read more info and download it directly from Microsoft Website.

Microsoft developed a fix for this problem. Check out Windows Update or Microsoft Website for more info on this fix.
Firefox: A Good Browser

I´ve been using Mozilla Firefox Browser for some moths now. In fact, lately I´ve been using both Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers, and I stopped using Opera.
I discovered that Firefox works well and fast, even when I´m doing multitask.
There´s only a litle problem in using Firefox: Not all sites are compatible with this browser. When you try to open a site not compatible with Firefox either you get an error message reporting that there´s no connection available, or you see the site with some errors, mostly in images or banners. For example, when I use Firefox the site of my banking on-line doesn´t work properly but when I surf other blogs it works much better than the other browsers I was using.

The World is really small: After my last post, I was searching in Google when I came across FireFox Community. I think this community is a great idea to promote FireFox´s products. Because their browser is really good, and once I´ve become it´s fan, I decided to join this community.

Browsers: IE, Firefox and Opera

One thing everyone needs to have to browse the internet is a browser. Today´s post starts a new section about browsers where I´ll share my experiences in this field.
The majority of computers I´ve seen uses Internet Explorer Browser . I had the last version of this browser in my laptop, wich is the computer I use more often. One month ago, I was in Windows update site when I found that the new version of IE was available, IE 7.
There are two other browsers I can use: Mozilla FireFox and Opera. This are both free browsers that you can download from the Internet in a few minutes and start using them right away.
I´ve been using both FireFox and Opera, and less frequently Internet Explorer. From my experience, I prefer Firefox because it opens the pages very fast, it´s easy to use, has translation tools, and a complete guide available after you download the software. I noticed that Opera is also very fast, but it has a different way of adding pages to my favourites and it requires a certain adaptation from the user.
Which one to use? The one you prefer, I think they´re all good but at the moment I´m using more frequently Firefox.
