Hello everyone,
I´m still a bit sick but TG getting better. My latest doctor appointment brought me some relief and exams showed good news. My energy levels are lower than usual but I´m hanging on and fighting the virus the best I can.
Today it´s my B-Day. I´m still on my 30´s :)
I will cook a nice dinner for us and have a b-day cake.
I was born in a Friday 13th as well, so I think this is a lucky day for me :)
See ya xx

Hello everyone,
After ten days away, me and my daughter are back home.
My trip went well. There were many cars on the roads so I had to be extra careful with my driving. I love driving so making these short (+/-750 km) trips is a way to distract myself.
I enjoy the views, stop once in a while and this time I really wished I had a good camera to take pictures of the views and share them in my blogs :(
On a positive note, I received a new cellphone as Christmas gift and it has a camera. Cellphone pictures have less quality but they´re better than nothing. I still have to read the cellphone instructions to learn well how to use it well. A new gadget for a not that geek person needs a learning period :)
Moving on, my mother is going well, already crossed the 70 years mark but is independent and her health conditions allows her to take care of her self. I often think about her future and my role in it.
This Christmas, I also had the chance to talk on the phone to my uncle X and cousin M. I still have family from my mother side and these two live in France. It was nice to catch up a bit with family I hadn´t talked with for over a decade...a belonging somewhere feeling.
So, I´m back home with the wish to prepare a simple New Year´s celebration for us. I´ll cook a nice homemade dinner and around midnight we will go out to see the fireworks and city celebrations and after, back home.
See you soon xx

Hello folks,
Life goes on for sure...and we´re already on another Christmas season.
These cold nights invite me to spend more time at home and guess what? I have been going to sleep earlier. For some reason, (and maybe my body is still recovering from the previous kidney infection episode) this "night owl" has been sleeping much more.
So, the shopping "madness" has begun here, we´re supposed to be in a big economic crisis but malls are crowded...it puzzles me. Plus, people seem to get more excited and sometimes crazy...driving and such.
We haven´t set our Christmas tree yet, a "tradition" I keep in my house, but my daughter is already talking about it.
As you probably noticed in my posts, I´m not into the "consumption" Christmas (anymore). More and more, such holidays have become just another day for me... it became a kid´s season and another opportunity to be in family.
The best part of it all is we get some days off to rest (or not) :)
I haven´t blogged much these days, but I do publish something on fb almost every day. Weird phase I´m going trough...hope the new year "energizes" me to keep up all my online projects ;)

Hello folks,
We´re still having sunny days in this corner of the world but after returning from my last short weekend trip to Lisbon I decided it was about time to complete that fall clothes cleaning I had started a couple weeks ago. It´s amazing how much my daughter grew in these past couple years, she´s needing a sort of "wardrobe makeover".
So, besides the everyday chores and because life isn´t only about work...My short trip was very nice!
It was quite an adventure driving in downtown´s Lisbon at night. I had not done that for such a long time. I didn´t expect so much traffic for a Sunday but I managed to arrive on time for Mr Murphy concert.
This concert was special for me, another dream came true... something I long wanted to do but never had the chance to. So, needless to say I enjoyed every bit of it. I´m happy, I had a great time, it will remain in my good moments memories forever.
This week, I´ve been slowly catching up on the blogosphere. My food blogs and Personal Finances readings will be the next focus of my attention.
See you soon xx

Yeap, this blogger bought herself a new laptop Acer 5742G, just like the one in the picture above.
My Toshiba Satellite (bought in 2005) asked for retirment, the LCD screen stopped working for good...I had spent so many hours online with it. Lately, it started heating more than usual. Due to high heating the system started crashing more and more often. The graphics processor had a problem too. Sometimes, I couldn´t even watch a music video and couldn´t play games at all.
If you´re interested in checking this laptop´s technical details, here´s a review of Acer 5742 G.
The only thing I miss from my good old friend Toshiba is the sound system which had two Kardon columns, they were a blast comparing to Acer´s one column. I hear a lot of music online and having a laptop with an inferior sound system makes some difference. On the other hand, the graphics processor works very well and I can now play games, watch movies and multitask. Another difference is that Toshiba had XP and Acer has Windows 7.
Until now, I´m pretty satisfied with the new laptop and I think it has a good price /quality relation.

Yeap, my daughter´s school started last week. Bye, bye Summer holidays and hello Winter school routines. Life changes for us in this time of year and we´re both still trying to adapt... I guess the waking up early is the hardest part for me, it´s still night at 7.00 am for god´s sake. Yeah...still a night owl person myself and I guess that will never change :)
This weekend, we did our shopping and bought almoast all materials she will need for the year ahead. The only thing missing is a new back pack. I´ve been avoiding buying this item as last year´s back pack is still good.
She wants a backpack like the one in the picture above, and she wants it bad :) Maybe she´ll get it but later.
Been a bit of a lazy blogger these days. During Summer we go out more but as soon as school starts we are back to our usual routines and spend more time at home.
Hope my blogging motivation strikes me again soon :)

As I mentioned before, I enjoy reading books very much.
I think this like started back in first infancy when I had the habit to read as many Disney comic books I could. There was a small bookstore near my home in which I could buy second hand Disney comics or an exchange deal with a small tax. This was a cool way to read more books for less money...and here´s a neat business idea :)
Over the years, I bought books on so many different topics... and kept all of them. Many of the books I have are on school related topics but I have a few science, history, romance, poems and fiction books as well. I also have a small collection of recipies, cooking related and music books.
As I mentioned in a previous post, I´m trying to sell my flat and am packing in case I need to move soon. I already packed my music, except my mini sound system which is still here in my kitchen.
In the past weeks, I´ve been sorting out my books to pack those I really want to keep and the ones I could try selling in the used bookstore. I really need to do this because...well..because I have to many books! I wouldn´t mind recovering some of the money I spent on books throughout the years but that won´t be so easy to do, as our second hand book market is rather small.
Well, I guess I have to try.

Bob Dylan says in one of his songs..."Times are changing"...
We should all realize that our "Mother Earth" is changing and so is the weather..and this last one at a "worrying" speed.
The weather became more unstable as we all have had the chance to verify with our own eyes in the last decade´s events. What happened in Japan and is happening right now in Africa says it all.
Well, the recent riots here in Europe are worrying too, they had immediate impact on European finances but that´s a topic for a whole new post.
So... I was all excited that I was going to have another wonderful weekend at the beach..such as the beach in the above picture, located in Montegordo - Algarve, and now the weather started acting out on us. In our corner of the globe it is raining pots in plain Summer´s peak, August. It´s almost 30ºC, seems more like a tropical weather now than a Mediterranean one.
So..no sun, no tan, no beach. We will spend the weekend at home enjoying some good quality family time, in our case, cooking too :)
Hope you have a great one!

Hello guys,
I just finished uploading my recent pictures to this pc and thought about sharing some of the pics I took in Bon Jovi´s open air concert last July 31, in Parque da Belavista, Lisbon.
I went to this concert thanks to my good friend B. which offered me the ticket and a room at her place to sleep.
The concert was awesome! I sang and danced all the songs. Some of their songs take me back to my teenage years and in some parts of the concert I felt like I was travelling back in time.
I can say it was one of the best concerts I went in the past years. Both audience and band gave a huge show. Portuguese audience is so cool, we´re so noisy and sing loud :) Just check the videos people already uploaded in Youtube.
It was nearly 60 thousand of us there, surely the biggest concert I went to in the past years. Roger Waters had 45.000, Linking Park much less, etc.
To warm up, the first part of the concert began at 18.00 pm. Two Portuguese bands played, one of them was Klepth which I enjoy very much. Bon Jovi Concert started around 8.00 pm and finished way pass midnight. It was a 3 hours concert, great from begining to end.
I returned home Monday night, a bit tired from the whole weekend trip but very happy because I finally had the chance to see one of my favorite teenage bands with my best friend B.
Memorable.

Hello guys,
Summer days arrived to Algarve and, although school has not finished yet, we have been enjoying weekends the best we can.
Two weeks ago I picked my car from the garage and while visiting M had the chance to try it out, so far so good. The picture above was taken in M´s hometown. Gosh, it´s such a big relief for me to have my car working well and the bill paid.
Well, life goes smother these days and because of this peaceful ambiance I´m feeling more "energized" to keep up the plans I made for this year. Ahead is the way and I´m positive it will all work out well.
With so many things in hand in my offline life, my blogging has become less frequent. I still love blogging a lot but I must admit that I don´t feel as much pressure to update my blogs as I used to. It´s been a while since my last "night owl" blogging night... I´ve been enjoying other things, including reading, I guess you can understand me.

Hello guys,
Weekend´s here, and with the sunny days we´ve been having lately it looks like Summer is arriving soon.
The weather is great but, this weekend, we´re not going anywhere special. My car has been in the mechanic since 18/05. Talk about problems...
My daughter wants to watch "Rio" at the movies and probably that´s what we will do tomorrow. At least, we won´t be locked home all day. I don´t mind being home but she does...she gets really bored/boring. Adolescence is arriving...and I can see it coming already :)
On my end, things are going...slowly going. I know big goals take time as well as big changes. Patience, persistance and positive thinking are my best allies right now but some days I feel like I´m tied up...wanting to speed thing up...a natural trait from Aries nature :)
I want to keep up the packing but some days procrastination takes over and I just get the "everyday" stuff done. Even at a slow pace... I´ll get thing done. There´s no turning back for me now :)
See you xx

Hello guys,
After a rather nice weekend offline I´m back to work and, tonight, I´m catching up with the blogosphere.
In the past weeks, I´ve spent much less time blogging than usual as I´m more focused on my offline world, specially the sale & moving project.
As I mentioned in recent posts, I´m facing two problems. One, is having too much stuff to carry and the other is the fact that my apartment needs some repairs. It needs a new floor in some rooms and to be all painted. The first problem was easier to solve, I decided to reduce my possessions including some furniture. The second problem is a bit more difficult to solve as I´d rather sell without investing.
To increase this apartment value, one would need to install Laminate hardwood flooring in the living room, hall and bedrooms. Some kitchen and bathroom floor ceramic tiles are damaged so this two rooms also need a new floor. Finally, all rooms need to be painted. All the rest is working well and in good conditions.
If I could empty this apartment, it would be much easier to paint and do the repairs it needs but once I don´t have a place to keep my stuff, I have to keep things here until the sale. So, right now, I´m working to reduce stuff to make the whole process easier. My best option is negotiating the price with a potential buyer instead of doing the repairs myself so that´s what I will try to.
In the next weeks... or months, I´ll be busy with my offline world and will have less time for my blogs but I really need this change and I´m motivated :)

Hello guys,
It´s Monday! Hope you have a good week start.
I started this week with the desire to get some work done around my flat so I can speed up my "moving project" a bit. Previous weeks happenings don´t leave much choice anyway.
In the past days, I´ve been more sensible than usual as all I could see on the news was the huge catastrophe occurred in Japan. I get disturbed to see so much suffering and destruction... My prayers go out to all victims of this catastrophe.
And with nothing much to add, I´m off to update my other blogs. Some have been a bit neglected in the past weeks due to my socializing activities :)

Hello guys,
Hope you all had a good weekend.
Mine was a bit different from usual as I had visits over.
My daughter spend this weekend with her father and had a wonderful time in a Jeep countryside gathering. The poor thing arrived home KO, had a bath, dinner and went straight to bed. A new week is starting and she will have more tests.
Once in the past couple days I have not work much in any of my blogs, I took a bit of Sunday night to catch up on things. As I´m writing this post, it´s still Sunday night here.
So, my recent online activities have been a bit dispersed, besides spending some time networking, I´ve been looking at Local search marketing info to learn more about this topic.
In one of my online digressions, I´ve came across an interesting Personal Development free e-book which, for now, I´m enjoying very much. If I keep the same opinion when I finish reading the whole book I will share it´s link here and in my PF blog as well.
This week, I will receive the reply for the job interview I went last Friday. I´ve been having mixed dual thoughts about this new job possibility.
Well, that´s all for today. I´m off to update Mizé Journey.
Wish you all a Happy Monday :)
See you soon xx

Hello guys,
Hope you are all having a good week. Here in my corner, it has been sunny most days. My yellow Narcissus sprouted into four beautiful and delicate flowers. Some Spring birds already arrived and the whole ambiance breads renovation.
This morning, I received a phone call for a job offer. I had uploaded my CV to a job website and that´s where they found me. I was completely caught by surprise by this phone-call but I agreed to meet next Friday for an interview.
I won´t disclose anything else about this job offer for now because this is only an interview, nothing´s guaranteed. For now, all I can tell is that the position might give me access to work in my studies´s area...and that would be great. So, I´m going. The rest is written in the stars :)

Hello everyone,
The sun is back to my corner of the world and guess what? My Narcissus sprouted!
It´s official, Spring is here :)
In Winter time, I like to hibernate but Spring is a time for renovation, new beginnings and time to..."just do it" :)
So...I´m in a sunny mood...and because I´m a nature lover, this Sunday I´m posting a picture of one of my hometown´s greatest views. I took this picture back in December in my last trip there.
Nothing much to add today... I baked a yummy Cheesecake which we´be been devouring and, right now, I´m off to update some of my other blogs :)

As some of you know, I write about Personal Finances and my overall life goals at my other blog Mizé Journey. It´s a simple blog, installed in a first level domain, which I bought solely for this purpose. I already wrote about today´s topic there, and without posting duplicate content, I will sum it up here as well because not all Night Clicks readers visit my other blog.
I´m in the middle of a lifestyle changing process. A lifestyle makeover or whatever you want to call it. The first steps of this process were taken back in 2005 when I decided that I needed to stop splurging money and took control of my personal finances.
2009 was a year of profound changes in my home life but the internal process of desiring a change/downsize kept going. In 2010, among other things, I´ve managed to finally become debt free and before the year ended I adopted the theme "Just Do it!" for 2011.
During this year, I will try to sell my T3 flat, move to my T2 and after I will renovate it. This flat is in a building built in 1983 and needs a good remodeling: A new bathroom, including bathroom vanities, a new kitchen, new doors, windows and floor tiles. There´s a lot to be done there and, depending on how fast I sell this flat, I estimate the renovation will continue throughout 2012.
I just started to prepare the moving...I have a lot of work to do but, in the search of a simpler life, I think it will all be worthy. The real downsizing process just began...
I will report my progresses here and at my other blog Mizé Journey.
See you soon xx

I just started to prepare the moving...I have a lot of work to do but, in the search of a simpler life, I think it will all be worthy. The real downsizing process just began...
I will report my progresses here and at my other blog Mizé Journey.
See you soon xx

My new year could have started in a better way...
My daughter spent New Year´s with her father and returned home sick. Now..they´re both sick.
She was supposed to start school Monday but wasn´t feeling well that morning. She vomited during the night a few times and had stomach aches. Maybe it was something she ate or a virus, not sure.
She doesn´t have fever and the stomach aches come and go...in the morning she´s not feeling very well, but after a few hours she looks normal. Then..it returns again.
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I´m in a small blogging hiatus but hope to return as soon as possible.

Hello everyone,
Hope you´re having a nice weekend like I am: Home, with a couple good books at hand, my notebook and my cat Nina warming my feet :)
Ohhh..."There´s no place like home", specially when it´s windy and rainy outside. I adore being cosy in my pajamas hearing the rain falling outside.
Friday I skipped work, had Saturday off and Sunday (today) I´m supposed to work a morning shift. I should get up by 7.00 am but it´s 3.30 am and I´m still awake, cooking and blogging :)
I´ll only sleep a few hours and hope to wake up because Friday I could not. Sometimes I oversleep, specially when I´m in a down mode or very tired. The fact is I´m so fed up with this job that I find every excuse not to go... lol.
Tonight I went to the mall with my daughter to buy a few items for Halloween, she likes playing "sweet or trick" with a group of friends and neighbors but she wanted something new to wear tomorrow. So, I bought her green fake hair and some funny glasses. You should see her with that on... she looks like a martian, lol. I bet they´ll have fun...kids always do.
In the past weeks, things on my English blogs have been a bit slow. I´ve been reading more and working on my Portuguese blogs too. I had the goal to improve advertising earnings in a few of my blogs but I knew that in order to achieve it I had to work hard on them. So... I did and it paid off because I reached my goal. I enjoy challenging myself because when I do, I work harder.
A good Sunday & Halloween to all :)

Hello everyone, hope you´re having a nice Saturday in your corner of the world.
Here in Portugal we´re having a sunny Autumn Saturday, the fair is in town and I´m home enjoying a day off from work.
My daughter is spending the weekend with her father and won´t be home until tomorrow night. I cooked lunch, a yummy 3 cheese omelet and fried rice, and now I´m here in front of my PC updating my blogs. Tomorrow I have a morning shift after which I´m going groceries shopping.
I feel like staying home all day and probably that´s what I´m going to do, unless a nice invitation to go to the fair comes up :)
You see, I have a pile of summer clothes to sort out that have been laying around for weeks and another pile to iron. Add a little cleaning to that and you can see how my Saturday off will be spent. Lately, I really enjoy staying home in my days off, resting and doing my stuff.
Now changing subject, I recovered my camera. My daughter left it under the bed in her father´s house and he only noticed it a week later when cleaning the room. My digital camera is a one hundred fifty euros Hp but it´s the only one I had so I´m glad I have it back. Now I can keep taking my amateur blurred pictures :)
Overall, things in my life are more balanced now and in result I feel better. My job´s schedules change had an impact on the way I´ve been feeling lately. Without this stress and pressure, my daily life goes more smoothly.
My relation with S changed in a few ways but now the storm has passed we´re not so distant as we were before. During sixteen years, we´ve been trough a lot of good and bad things and although we´re divorced and not living together there´s still a lot of good feelings and emotional attachment. This way, none of us seems to be able to "move on" and I think none of us really wants that. Only time will tell...
A good rest of weekend to all :)
