Blogging Break

Hello guys,
As you can notice, I´m taking a blogging break here in Night Clicks..and a long one.
During the past months a lot happened in my personal life, including a home moving.
If you´d like to know what I´ve been up to, please visit my other blog: Mizé Journey. I have been updating it at least once a month.
I just read that Entrecard closed. I wasn´t using it as I used to but still I think it´s a pity. Trough Entrecard, I meet many blogging buddies and got some traffic too. It was a cool community but as we know...nothing lasts forever.
I´ll be back...Just don´t know when.

I just noticed that, today, it´s Night Clicks Blogversary!
I published my first posts here in 4/11/2007 so Night Clicks, a Scorpio ruled blog :), is celebrating it´s 4th Blogversary.
Looking back, I´m happy that I managed to keep this simple mixed bag blog for such a long time...4 years!
Although Night Clicks has very modest stats, I´m amazed with the amount of info I gather here along the time.
Night Clicks was never a personal daily journal kind of blog but each post, even when I´m writing about a product or service, has bits of me.

Night Clicks 3rd Blogversary

Hello Guys!
I´m celebrating Night Clicks 3rd Blogversary!
It´s a milestone...and I´m happy to (still) be here.

The picture above, which I enjoyed the minute I spotted it, was copied from a Blogversary post in gilyehuda.com and it describes just how I feel about Night Clicks 3rd Blogversary.

I still can remember the moment when I decided to start Night Clicks. My inspiration to start a blog in English came from Rachel, the blogger behind "Turnonepoundintoonemillion.com". Sending you a big hug :)

So, I started Night Clicks in November 4. Night Clicks is a Scorpion blog, my ascendant sign :)

I won´t add a long description about the benefits I found in blogging but I can tell you it´s been a great journey and I´m here to stay a bit longer :)

I´m sending out love and a big hug to all that read my (sometimes crazy) posts, Followers, EC fellow Bloggers, occasional visitors that find Night Clicks trough search engines (many trough strange keywords, lol), those who support my blogs by linking to them, and all who have been here with me along the way. Humm...I´m thinking about a funny blogging game to surprise my 100 follower here but once it´s a surprise... I´ll only tell you afterward. So, for now, all I can do is wait until that person arrives.

I´m happy and, at the same time, proud. Two years, many nights, over 1000 posts, sharing, learning and meeting other Bloggers worldwide trough Night Clicks is a milestone I never imagined to reach... but I´m so glad I did it :)

Night Clicks Topics: Night Talks

When I started Night Clicks, I was a blogging newbie. I already had my Portuguese Art blog but when I decided to learn how to earn money online I realized that I needed to blog in English. Blogging in English was an adventure that I also thank my blogging "Godmother", Rachel, from "Turnonepoundintoonemillion.com".
Back then, I felt the need to research more about blogging and blogging resources. It was then that I found all the Pro bloggers of our Internet.
While learning, I also shared most of what I found. As you can check in my archives, I have some posts about blogging resources.
When I realized that my personal posts received more comments that any others, I decided to change Night Clicks focus. It became a blog where I post reviews and personal topics along with rants. Well, I blog about anything I fancy, anything under the moon.
Although I don´t talk much about it, I have insomnia. I blog specially at night when the city is sleeping. I have this (problem) way of being since I can remember myself. I´m a night person and I dislike mornings. When I work mornings, I´m not productive and I only wake up after a huge dose of caffeine. That´s why my blog is called Night Clicks.
Starting more blogs in English was another big adventure. Most of my blogs are personal, what goes on in my kitchen (not much lately), my job, my mom & student life, my finances, etc. When I started my blogs I didn´t have a full time job like now but even so I decided to keep them. Although I don´t update them as much as I´d like to, each one is already a part of myself.
Here in Night Clicks, I decided to create another section called "Night Talks" where I post my "rants" about anything that comes to my mind. In this section you´ll find those posts that don´t fit in other categories.
Ok, after all this night talk, I´m off to Youtube to prepare my Music Monday post. See you soon :)

Changed Night Clicks Template

Hello everyone.
Tonight, I spent a couple hours changing Night Clicks template. I was getting bored to have the previous look and felt like changing it.
I also spent some time organizing labels, things were pretty messy around here. I need to find some time to review old posts, one by one, and check links. This is a task I will do another day because it takes lots of time. I have 1078 posts to go trough, not an easy job but a required one. Probably, some links don´t work anymore so the best thing to do is check them all.
I also made a blogroll "cleaning". By the way, I´m opened to link exchange. If you´d like to exchange links with me, just leave me a comment.

Night Clicks: 2nd Blogversary Approaching

I have a Blogversary widget here on Night Clicks so I don´t forget when the next one will be. Today, I noticed that my second blogversary will be in 22 days.
Night Clicks will be two years old in less than one month, a milestone on my blogging ventures.
Looking back, I don´t regret a minute dedicated to this blog. I learned so much and meet so many wonderful people trough this virtual space that I would do it all over again.
I won´t be able do do a Blogversary contest all by myself, or something like that, but maybe I could reward my EC top droppers with some credits. After joining EC, my blog ranks improved, thanks to my loyal droppers. Trough EC, I also found (and still find) great blogs and became their loyal reader.
Anyway, two years blogging is a date to remember and without your visits and comments things here on Night Clicks would not be the same. I´ll try to come up with some idea to reward my special blogging friends.

Night Clicks - Not a "Do Follow Blog"

Night Clicks, my central office as I like to call it, is not a "Do Follow" blog in a long time. I still have the link and widget to one of this directories in my sidebar but I´m not a part of it anymore.
I made this decision due to SPAM issues. Like any other blogger, I like comments about my pots´s content, even when I blog about the weather, and not about Bingo, Panda bags or any other topics or links spammers use.
I give links to whoever I want whenever I want, period. I exchange links with other bloggers whenever I feel like. I even accept some blogger´s links in my comments but they won´t get any juice, I know enough html to control my outbond links:)
This blog is almost two years old and in this time I learned a lot by myself. I spend long hours at night learning online.
I´m the master of this place (besides big G) and I like to be in control of what happens here. This is my show and if anyone doesn´t like it I don´t mind, go spam somewhere else.

Blog Followers e Updates

It´s confirmed, there were some PR changes and not only in my blogs. Yesterday, while returning drops and bloghopping, I had the chance to check this information.

About Blog Followers: I´ve noticed that I have less followers in all my blogs but the number of feed subscribers hasn´t changed.
Yesterday, I read in another blog that Google is doing some changes in their readers and this followers became temporary anonymous, until all changes are done. I was wondering why Night Clicks lost over ten followers at once, but with my actual blogging path I wouldn´t be surprised if there were other reasons. I changed my blog into a mixed bag and those that look for blogging resources may get tired of my blog tags, awards and reviews.
I didn´t have the opportunity to research about this topic yet but as soon as I find more information I will update this post.

Night Clicks TC Widget

Hi everyone.
My Top Commentor widget is up and running. It´s my way to say thanks to fellow bloggers that read my posts and comment.
If you take a closer look, you´ll see that my top commentors are all great Ladies & Bloggers. Their support has been great and without their good humor and kind words my blogging nights wouldn´t be the same. There are other regular comentors that I appreciate, so a big thanks to all of you too.
When we have a TC sidewide widget, we´re giving links out and not only a few.
I noticed that the number of followers of Night Clicks has increased, I´d like to return this gesture and become their follower too. At least, a good blog ethics tells me I should visit their blogs and comment. This is one of my next tasks.
For now, I´m off to see the repetition of Obahma´s ceremony. I heard it had a good live concert, and you know me, not much into politics but great headbanger :)

My Blog´s Ranks

I was so surprised with the latest PR updates that I started writing this post but saved it to be sure that in the meanwhile things wouldn´t change :)
Ranks is a topic of interest for most bloggers that somehow profit from them, either by monetizing their blogs trough advertising or paid posts.
When I wrote my blogging goals post I was quite sure that Night Clicks would be penalized but, for my luck, it wasn´t. Like me, other bloggers kept their PRs or gained some. I know there were recent changes but now I´m a bit confused.
Anyway, I´m writing this post to share my results:

Blog Awards and Tags

I received some blog awards and tags from lovely bloggers that I meet trough Entrecard such as Mariuca, Allena, Lisa, Mira and Mathias but I´m taking so long to post them that I already feel a little embarrassed.
I feel honored when other bloggers think of me and pass me blog awards but I have a problem deciding who I will award so I keep delaying this sort of posts.

Night Clicks Topics: Weird Log Request - Problems With Mr Linky Feature

Hi everyone.
Today, when I loaded Night Clicks for the first time I got this weird log request like you can see in this screenshoot:

First, I didn´t knew what was happening but then I did a bit of research and found that this log request comes from Blenza website. This website provides the linky feature I´ve been using on Music Monday.
I checked other blogs that participate in MM and it´s happening the same. I decided to removed all scripts from my blog until this problem is fixed because I don´t want that log request to bother my visitors.
So, if you visited Night Clicks, or dropped your EC here and found this anoying log request, I´m sorry, it´s a problem with the linky feature.

Night Clicks Blogversary

Today is Night Clicks Blogversary!
Times flies so fast! I almost forgot about my Blogversary and didn´t have time to prepare anything special.
One thing I can assure you, I also blog for fun and I´m very glad I started Night Clicks.
My first blogging experience was in September 2007. I started a Portuguese blog about one of my hobbies, "Stained Glass" and later I decided to blog in English, so in November I started Night Clicks.
This year was full of learning experiences and in the last six months I started socializing more with other bloggers, specially trough Entrecard.
Socializing has been a very rewarding experience that has an influence in my blogging activities. My topics focus changed along the way.
I feel enriched and willing to learn more.
For those who visit my blog, a big thanks!
Without you blogging wouldn´t be the same.
