Blogging Break

Hello guys,
As you can notice, I´m taking a blogging break here in Night Clicks..and a long one.
During the past months a lot happened in my personal life, including a home moving.
If you´d like to know what I´ve been up to, please visit my other blog: Mizé Journey. I have been updating it at least once a month.
I just read that Entrecard closed. I wasn´t using it as I used to but still I think it´s a pity. Trough Entrecard, I meet many blogging buddies and got some traffic too. It was a cool community but as we know...nothing lasts forever.
I´ll be back...Just don´t know when.
Hugs to all xx

Blogger Status: Short Trip to Lisbon

Hello folks,
Hope you´re all well. Except for my health issue and my car, things are going Ok on my side.
Tomorrow I´m going on a short trip to Lisbon, my country´s capital, and hope to be back Saturday afternoon. My car is in the repair shop so I´ll be traveling by train and when I arrive Lisbon, I´ll use metro.
And..where am I going?

Blogger Status: Getting Better but Still Sick

Hello everyone, It´s been a while but I´m still here trying to recover from health issues.
Most of my energy is now spent in trying to keep up with the usual daily chores, treatment and some family or leisure time (reading or online).
This week, I solved the issue I had uploading photos. My hp camera software is not compatible with my recently bought Acer´s Windows 7 operating system. I now have a card reader which allows me to copy photos from the hp camera chip card files to my Acer laptop. Problem solved, I can use photos on my post again :)
Tomorrow is dentist day. Since yesterday, I´ve been having a very annoying toothache which is sucking my good mood. Guess I´m not in my best phases, issue after issue kind of thing.
Life: I know I can handle all this, now...can you stop the tests? :)

My B-Day & Getting Better

Hello everyone,
I´m still a bit sick but TG getting better. My latest doctor appointment brought me some relief and exams showed good news. My energy levels are lower than usual but I´m hanging on and fighting the virus the best I can.
Today it´s my B-Day. I´m still on my 30´s :)
I will cook a nice dinner for us and have a b-day cake.
I was born in a Friday 13th as well, so I think this is a lucky day for me :)

Blogger Status: Been Sick

Hello folks,
I´ve been away from all my English blogs for a while as I´ve been sick, again. And I say again because the last time I feel sick was last November.
This time I caught a virus which caused me an infection and have been fighting it since late January. I went to the hospital early this February and have been home doing treatment.
Thanks to the treatment and plenty rest today I´m feeling much better. I have been posting on fb though. My wall there became a sort of personal blog but it´s not the same thing, I missed the blogosphere so today I´m feeling more energetic and decided to catch up a bit on my blogging.
Well, a blogger status post is supposed to be short. I´m going to update my other blogs and will come back as soon as possible.
See ya xxx

Adgitize is Closing

Hello folks,
I´m starting this new blogging year with more energy as I´ve recovered from the infection and been having plenty rest.
As my post´s tittle says, I just found that Adgitize Ad Network is closing. I´ve been an Adgitize publisher since it began but never upgraded to publisher or had many people referred by me so my revenue was pretty low.
I just visited their website to confirm the info and was informed that they will pay any remainder revenue earned before December, the official closing date.
I already removed the Adgitize widget from my blogs and as I´m writing this post they´re not showing ads anymore.
Last month I have decided to include Adsense in more of my blogs, including Night Clicks. So far, Night Clicks type of visitors don´t click much on ads but once in a while someone does so I´m keeping it this way to accumulate with my other blog´s revenue.
Well, live goes on.
And because this is my first post in 2012, here are my 3 major blogging goals for the year ahead: Keep up all my blogs, find new ways/websites of MMO and keep growing my websites/blogs advertising revenue.
See you soon xx

Happy New Year!

I´d like to wish a Happy New Year to all Night Clicks visitors and fellow bloggers I´ve meet trough EC and on the Blogosphere.
Lately, I haven´t blog-hoped much but I remember you all.
Hope the New Year brings us more of what we really need.
Health, Peace & Love.
Cheers xxx

Back Home

Hello everyone,
After ten days away, me and my daughter are back home.
My trip went well. There were many cars on the roads so I had to be extra careful with my driving. I love driving so making these short (+/-750 km) trips is a way to distract myself.
I enjoy the views, stop once in a while and this time I really wished I had a good camera to take pictures of the views and share them in my blogs :(
On a positive note, I received a new cellphone as Christmas gift and it has a camera. Cellphone pictures have less quality but they´re better than nothing. I still have to read the cellphone instructions to learn well how to use it well. A new gadget for a not that geek person needs a learning period :)
Moving on, my mother is going well, already crossed the 70 years mark but is independent and her health conditions allows her to take care of her self. I often think about her future and my role in it.
This Christmas, I also had the chance to talk on the phone to my uncle X and cousin M. I still have family from my mother side and these two live in France. It was nice to catch up a bit with family I hadn´t talked with for over a decade...a belonging somewhere feeling.
So, I´m back home with the wish to prepare a simple New Year´s celebration for us. I´ll cook a nice homemade dinner and around midnight we will go out to see the fireworks and city celebrations and after, back home.
See you soon xx

Happy Christmas

My Christmas Greetings to all Night Clicks readers and visitors.
Wish you all the best xx

And Life Goes On...

Hello folks,
Life goes on for sure...and we´re already on another Christmas season.
These cold nights invite me to spend more time at home and guess what? I have been going to sleep earlier. For some reason, (and maybe my body is still recovering from the previous kidney infection episode) this "night owl" has been sleeping much more.
So, the shopping "madness" has begun here, we´re supposed to be in a big economic crisis but malls are crowded...it puzzles me. Plus, people seem to get more excited and sometimes crazy...driving and such.
We haven´t set our Christmas tree yet, a "tradition" I keep in my house, but my daughter is already talking about it.
As you probably noticed in my posts, I´m not into the "consumption" Christmas (anymore). More and more, such holidays have become just another day for me... it became a kid´s season and another opportunity to be in family.
The best part of it all is we get some days off to rest (or not) :)
I haven´t blogged much these days, but I do publish something on fb almost every day. Weird phase I´m going trough...hope the new year "energizes" me to keep up all my online projects ;)
See you soon xxx

BGM – Affiliate Marketing

If you have a blog or website about finances or business related and you are looking for ways to monetize it, there are different options out there but in sum they all revolve around selling products or services with or without affiliate marketing and advertising.
Perhaps advertising is the most common way to monetize a website because it´s easy to implement and requires little effort from the webmaster while selling and finding good leads are more difficult to do.
If you´re interested in one International affiliate network related to finances, check out Blue Global Media.
Blue Global Media (from now on referred as BGM) is an Arizona based affiliate network founded in 2006. This company specializes in financial affiliate marketing and offers campaigns such as loans, cash advance affiliate program, which is the same as Payday affiliate, and credit reports.
As all affiliate Networks, BGM goal is to maximize earnings both for affiliates and advertisers. As all affiliate schemes, after signing up they supply the advertising tools you need to work and you earn money for each lead you provide them.
If you have a website about financial topics, expertise in this area or would like to try out this opportunity just click in any of the links in this post and you will be directed to this company´s website. By the number of campaigns I saw on their website, they are probably one of the top International affiliate networks working with this finances´ niche.

PR Updates

Today, I noticed that uncle G. did PR updates.
I can still remember last year´s Christmas "gifts" from big G., most of my blogs remained with the same PR. This year, my new info domain gained a modest but welcome PR 1 and most of my other blogs remained with the same PR.
I must confess that this year I haven´t done much link building. In fact, for some blogs I haven´t done any link building at all. This means that I can´t expect any improvements if I haven´t "worked" for them.
This update brought some changes to my blogs. From what I saw today using a free PR checker tool Night Clicks is now a PR2 instead of PR3. I´m not surprised with this reduction because I know that I have more links out than in. I think links are "the" big weight factor in the total result of the equation.
On a positive note my Personal Finances blog dot com domain, which has been PR2 for some time, is now PR3.
My Glass Art blog passed from PR3 to PR2 but this doesn´t influence my earnings from that blog because the biggest chunk comes from advertising revenue.
I still have to check my other blogs but I´ll do that later tonight. Right now I´m off to the mini-market.
See you soon xx

Blogger Status: A Bit Better

Hello folks,
Just to let you know that this blogger is feeling a bit better. Antibiotics seem to be working well but I still have pains in the lower back and am taking pain killer pills.
I´ve been at home everyday but feeling so sick that most time I don´t even feel like blogging or even turning the laptop on.
Now, something else started...toothaches! Goshh...I think I´m in a sort of bad luck phase, one thing sprouts right after another. Well, shouldn´t be complaining so much...could be much, much worst. Just need to get my normal energy levels back and, hopefully, I´ll get trough this soon.
See ya xxx

Night Clicks Blogversary

I just noticed that, today, it´s Night Clicks Blogversary!
I published my first posts here in 4/11/2007 so Night Clicks, a Scorpio ruled blog :), is celebrating it´s 4th Blogversary.
Looking back, I´m happy that I managed to keep this simple mixed bag blog for such a long time...4 years!
Although Night Clicks has very modest stats, I´m amazed with the amount of info I gather here along the time.
Night Clicks was never a personal daily journal kind of blog but each post, even when I´m writing about a product or service, has bits of me.
See you soon xxx

Blogger Status: Sick

Hello,
This blogger has been pretty quiet and sick since October 24th. Although it all started with fever and some back pains, this time it´s not just a flu. I have been fighting a kidney infection.
Last Saturday, I went to the local hospital but after 12 hours, three exams and a few injections, I successfully managed to convince the doctor to "release" me under antibiotics and pain killers. If you remember my story, you know that I worked there for nearly two years and got enough of it.
Well, today I´m feeling much better... guess the medication is doing it´s job. In the past couple weeks this fast spreading (abnormal = where did it came from?) bacterial attack sucked most of my energy but now I´m slowly winning this fight and getting my "normal" energy levels back.
I researched online about this bacteria, got a bit scared about what I read so I´m keeping a picture of it so I remember what I´m up against ;)

Hope to recover soon and wish you all a good Weekend.
See ya xx

Writing Advice

I´m one of those persons which enjoys quotes, specially inspirational and about life & love. The other day, while browsing images on Google, I came across the above "writing rules" and think it´s worth sharing with my blogging friends and Night Clicks readers.
Lately, I haven´t been blogging and writing much so the picture above is kind of a "note to self" as well :) It´s also a reminder that improvement generally needs practice.
Now my inner voice is also saying...stop looking at the poster and go write something! :)
See you soon xx

Blogger Status: Weekend Off

Hello,
This last week passed quickly and I´ve been blogging everywhere except Night Clicks and my food blog so... tonight I´m doing a little catch up post.
"Life goes on" was this week´s mantra for me as a few endings took place.
One of this ending was my digital hp camera, it stopped capturing pictures for good. I guess things never chose a good time to break as I don´t know when I´ll be able to replace it and I´m a bit sad about this event because my blogging is not the same without some pictures. On the positive side, maybe this is an opportunity to buy a real camera like a Canon, learn more about photography and improve my photographer skills :)
The picture above, which I found on this blog, means that not only this blogger is having a weekend off from blogging but also that my post´s pictures (taken by me) will be on a "blogging break" for a while :)
Hope you have a good weekend xx

Fall & Life Stuff

Hello folks,
We´re still having sunny days in this corner of the world but after returning from my last short weekend trip to Lisbon I decided it was about time to complete that fall clothes cleaning I had started a couple weeks ago. It´s amazing how much my daughter grew in these past couple years, she´s needing a sort of "wardrobe makeover".
So, besides the everyday chores and because life isn´t only about work...My short trip was very nice!
It was quite an adventure driving in downtown´s Lisbon at night. I had not done that for such a long time. I didn´t expect so much traffic for a Sunday but I managed to arrive on time for Mr Murphy concert.
This concert was special for me, another dream came true... something I long wanted to do but never had the chance to. So, needless to say I enjoyed every bit of it. I´m happy, I had a great time, it will remain in my good moments memories forever.
This week, I´ve been slowly catching up on the blogosphere. My food blogs and Personal Finances readings will be the next focus of my attention.
See you soon xx

This Blogger Bought a New Machine

Yeap, this blogger bought herself a new laptop Acer 5742G, just like the one in the picture above.
My Toshiba Satellite (bought in 2005) asked for retirment, the LCD screen stopped working for good...I had spent so many hours online with it. Lately, it started heating more than usual. Due to high heating the system started crashing more and more often. The graphics processor had a problem too. Sometimes, I couldn´t even watch a music video and couldn´t play games at all.
If you´re interested in checking this laptop´s technical details, here´s a review of Acer 5742 G.
The only thing I miss from my good old friend Toshiba is the sound system which had two Kardon columns, they were a blast comparing to Acer´s one column. I hear a lot of music online and having a laptop with an inferior sound system makes some difference. On the other hand, the graphics processor works very well and I can now play games, watch movies and multitask. Another difference is that Toshiba had XP and Acer has Windows 7.
Until now, I´m pretty satisfied with the new laptop and I think it has a good price /quality relation.
